Putrajaya Able To Become An Islam-based Infotainment City

Putrajaya 7th November:  The Fujiatlas Group plans on developing an information-based entertainment city (infotainment) here, which will involve the construction of an Islamic culture and craft museum, a five-star hotel, a shopping complex and a commercial hub.

The President and founder of Fujiatlas, Mohamed Zekrioui states that initially, his team and other corporate colleagues need to equip themselves with fund amounting to 1 billion Euros (RM4.3 billion) to implement the project in this Federal Government Administrative Center.

He states that his company is currently on a look-out for a suitable land for the project and has presented a detailed proposal to former President of Putrajaya Authority (PP), Tan Sri Samsudin Osman.

“We have been panning carefully towards the execution of this project for the past three years”.

“ I am drawn to Putrajaya myself and I realise that this city can play a great role as a connecting cultural city as to enable the greater public to understand arts and crafts from 57 Islamic countries,” he said to Utusan Malaysia here today.

The Fujiatlas group is a company involved in various types of businesses such as export and import, tourism, crafts marketing and event management.

The group is also reported to have been involved in organizing world-class expositions and exhibitions in China, Japan, Spain, the United States of America and South Korea.

Mohamed adds that the idea to make Putrajaya a place to exhibit world culture and arts, concentrating on Islamic crafts arose when he had the opportunity to join the tour group organized by Putrajaya Holdings more than three years ago.

“The concept is simple- I want to give people the opportunity to understand and appreciate Islamic culture of 57 countries only by paying a visit to one single place, which is Putrajaya”.

“I have great passion towards Islamic arts because I come from a craft-making family in Marrakesh, a city well-known for the Moroccan crafts,” this current resident of Japan added.

The Chief Executive Officer of Fujiatlas, Faisal Tahir Khan states that detailed information on the development of this infotainment city will be announced in February next year, either in Malaysia or Japan.

According to Faisal, Putrajaya is chosen as an investment destination as his company sees the potential of growth of this city, as a hub functioning to exhibit Islamic masterpieces.
