Speech From Mr Kojiro Kawamura honorary Chief Of International Traditional Industry Development Center And The President Of Granada Company In Tokyo

Traditional industries are considered as one of the most beautiful and innovative media which everyone must acquire it every time and everywhere, which cannot be compensated easily when it is broken or gone extinct.

The beauty of these materials and the art products which are produced by those anonymous craftsmen confer on our life whenever we used it as a type of happiness, Bernard Lich once said: “The craftsmen could not produce simple and quality pieces as it happens in traditional industries, this is because they are doing their best in order to express what makes their works excellent,”. Yet the traditional industries start to decay, where the urge finished again to buy it at any time or anywhere since the price is expensive and high maintenance cost. Thus, we must recognize the modern social and cultural changes, the forms and the new hybrid products which defeat and gradually seek to exclude consumer goods from traditional industries, yet there is always a reality and beauty which is represented in some captivating things in our lives, whoever searches for it will definitely find it, unfortunately the problem rarely happens, those who are seeking for it and collecting it in order to own it, and the Japanese must not forget that Mr Mohamed Zekrioui is considered as the minority who spares no effort to work on it since he came to Japanese before 10 years ago.

Since 50 years ago, I was one of those who carry different traditional industries which filled up my soul from the whole to present it to the Japanese, I was deeply impressed with its simple beauty, today the workers are supportive towards the real traditional industries development, in order to look for captivating and impressive pieces from different nations and their cultures, they are gifted with a blessing after seeing it, and these days, whenever the originality of the traditional products increases, the possibility to gain it is also almost to zero, for that reason, the people are less interested to search and collect them.

Here I would like to welcome for those who are collecting the traditional products from the whole world, I remember the quotation said by Mr HG Wells which is: “The civilization is transferring the good things,” and transferring the traditional products in the world is a hard and costing work, but I have a belief that a person like Mr Mohamed Zekrioui which presents Morocco to Japan will be able to accomplish this mission and this is based on my faith and belief.
